Umar Ali – Chief Executive Officer | Director of Global Operations | Head of Government & Strategic Consortium Engagement
Umar Ali is a Private Investment Consultant and senior global operator, serving as Chief Executive Officer, Director of Global Operations, and Head of Government & Strategic Consortium Engagement for the Mond Group.
In this role, he leads the Group’s global strategy across energy (petroleum, LPG, gas, and renewables), strategic commodities, and precious metals, overseeing structured allocations, cross-border execution, and principal-to-principal engagements. His mandate centres on disciplined execution, regulatory alignment, and the delivery of reliable commercial frameworks at institutional and sovereign level.
Umar works directly with government and government-linked entities, sovereign and institutional counterparties, royal family offices, and private strategic partners, coordinating access, compliance, and long-term commercial structures aligned with national priorities and institutional objectives.
Over the past decade, he has built trusted networks across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the United Kingdom, South America, and Asia, with particularly strong relationships in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, China, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. These networks enable discreet introductions, complex transaction structuring, and partnerships designed to deliver measurable impact and sustainable growth.
Umar has held senior leadership roles including Director of Global Operations across Medybird Gloves Manufacturing, RG Group, Pie Analysis, and UK Wholesales, overseeing international operations, global supply chains, manufacturing expansion, and strategic growth initiatives across multiple sectors.
He has been nominated twice for the HRH Queen’s Award and attended the HRH 75th Anniversary Dinner in recognition of services to business and education. Over several decades, Umar has worked closely with the UK Government’s Department for International Trade and the British Chambers of Commerce, supporting international trade, enterprise development, and cross-border collaboration.
Umar is a Platinum Partner of The Manchester College, a relationship spanning more than a decade. Two nationally recognised qualifications have been named after his company Pie Analysis: the Level 3 Diploma in Business and the Level 3 Diploma in Marketing & Technology, reflecting sustained contributions to vocational education, employability, and industry-aligned training.
